Pregnancy Back Pain Relief

 

It doesn’t really come as a surprise to a pregnant woman when she gets back pain during her pregnancy as many women complain of this discomfort. However, there are methods to help reduce the pain. There are ways in which a women can get pregnancy back pain relief during this period of time so that she can stay healthy and enjoy her pregnancy.

 

 

Approximately 70 percent of all women experience some degree of back pain during pregnancy, but that doesn't mean you have to suffer the entire time.


 

Back pain is very common during pregnancy because you gain a lot of weight and your posture becomes shifted into an incorrect pose which can cause discomfort. Therefore, practicing correct posture is the key to getting relief from this kind of pain. So, when you stand up, try to keep your body straight and tall. Your chest should be held high while stopping your shoulders stooping or bending forward. Your shoulders should be relaxed but backwards. Never lock your knees.

Sleeping on your side is always suggested by doctors to pregnant woman. The knees can be kept bent and a pillow can be kept in between the knees and under your tummy.

 

When you experience pain in your back, you can use a heat pack to reduce the pain. You can also use an ice pack and a heat pack, alternating them from time to time. This provides faster relief. If a back massage is available, this also helps to relieve your pain.

 

When pregnant, try to continue with the daily chores that do not put strain in your back. Sitting or lying down idle often makes the muscles dormant and this might cause pain in your back.  Activities like swimming and slow walking helps keep you stay healthy and active. Chiropractic and acupuncture treatments can be taken up if your pain becomes unbearable. If the pain persists you should always consult your doctor. However, if the above exercises can be practiced then pregnancy back pain relief is possible.
